Warm Diplomacy at Indonesian and Australian Heads of State’s Luncheon

President Prabowo Subianto Thursday (05/15) hosted a state luncheon to welcome Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at the State Palace, Jakarta.

The luncheon in the afternoon concluded the official visit of Prime Minister Albanese at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta.

In a warm atmosphere during the luncheon, President Prabowo gave his brief remarks to highlight the friendship between Indonesia and Australia. He also invited all the guests to support the close relationship of both countries.

“We hope the friendship between Indonesia and Australia can be stronger in the upcoming years. Welcome,” President Prabowo remarked.

Prime Minister Albanese welcomed the invitation conveyed by President Prabowo.

In his response, the Prime Minister also showed appreciation on the cordial welcome and expressed the same hope for the future of both countries.

“For the friendship between the peoples of Australia and Indonesia, and for the welfare, peace, and stability of our region,” Prime Minister Albanese remarked.

The dishes served at the luncheon for the state guests reflects the richness of Indonesian culinary, such as gado-gado (salad with peanut sauce) as the starter and pindang serani (north java coast-style fish soup) with sour and spicy taste that gave refreshing sensation.

The guests were also served with taliwang grilled chicken (Lombok traditional grilled chicken) as the main dish and kopi jos (hot coffee served by dipping hot charcoal in it) to bring the luncheon to a close. The menu served has made the guests astonished by the Indonesian culinary richness.

During the luncheon, the guests were also entertained with an Indonesian traditional art performance called tari lenggang kipas (a fan dance) from Jakarta.

President Prabowo and Prime Minister Albanese sat next to each other in a warm and friendly atmosphere, showing a positive sign of Indonesia and Australia’s cooperation in the future.
