We Have a Hard-Working President, Cabinet Secretary Reminds Civil Servant Candidates

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo is a hard worker and Cabinet Secretariat should be ready to prepare a lot of Cabinet Meetings even during the pandemic, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung on Monday (01/02) reminded 60 civil servant candidates (CPNS) of Cabinet Secretariat in his message through a video conference.

“The main task of Cabinet Secretariat is to provide services to the President and the Vice President in administrative and managerial matters and prepare cabinet meetings, including plenary cabinet meetings, limited cabinet meetings, and internal meetings,” he added.

According to Pramono, Cabinet Secretariat has another function as the secretary of the final assessment team for appointing all echelon I at ministries/government institutions as well as directors and commissioners of state-owned enterprises.

“We have also another task to review all ministerial regulations. All ministerial regulations must obtain approval from the President through Cabinet Secretariat before they are promulgated, so you can learn a lot of things about this,” Pramono said.

Pramono also explained that Cabinet Secretariat has one Vice Cabinet Secretary, six Deputies, five Expert Staff, four Special Staff, 26 echelon II officials, and 84 echelon III officials.

In this pandemic era, he added, employees of Cabinet Secretariat also implements work from home policy as part of an effort to prevent COVID-19 transmission. Thus, Pramono ordered the civil servant candidates to maintain self-discipline in observing health protocols.

On that occasion, the Cabinet Secretary also maintained the candidates to remain neutral in politics and to wisely use social media. (TGH/UN) (RI/EP)
