Windy Cantika Aisah Wins First Medal for Indonesia in 2020 Tokyo Olympics

The Indonesian contingent won the first medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after a young lifter Windy Cantika Aisah took a bronze medal in weightlifting.

Competing in the 49 kg class at the Tokyo International Forum, Japan, Saturday (24/07/2021), Windy managed to record a total lift of 194 kilograms.

Windy’s participation in Tokyo Olympics is her debut in the Olympics arena.

“CONGRATULATIONS! A young lifter Windy Cantika Aisah has won the first medal for Indonesia. She got a bronze medal in Weightlifting with the total lift of 194kg (84kg Snatch, 110kg Clean and Jerk),” the official twitter account of Ministry of Youth and Sports @KEMENPORA_RI tweeted.

For the record, Zhihui Hou from China won the gold medal while Saikhom Mirabai Chanu from India won the silver medal. (UN) (RI/MUR)
