Young Representatives from Across the Archipelago to Raise the Red-and-White Flag at Merdeka Palace

The national flag-hoisting troop assigned to raise the Red-and-White flag at the 81st Indonesian Independence Day ceremony at the Merdeka Palace on Monday (08/17) has been selected.

This year, the troop is known as the Sovereign Indonesia Team, comprising two formation groups: Group 8 and Group 17.

Among members of Group 8 is Celina Olivia Apriani Theo, a student at State Vocational High School 5 Pontianak, representing West Kalimantan province as the flag bearer.

The reserve flag bearer is Eighteen Jeanette Hekboy, a student at State High School 1 Kupang representing East Nusa Tenggara province.

Group 8 is commanded by Achmad Fachri Mubarok of State Vocational High School 1 Jambi, representing Jambi province.

I Nyoman Harya Dhanurendra Darmamukti, a  student at State High School 7 Banjarmasin representing South Kalimantan province serves as the flag-hoisting officer, while M. Aryo Wira Zandhyka Y., a student at State High School 7 Bengkulu City representing Bengkulu province, serves as the flag-unfurling officer.

For Group 17, Ahmad Raditya, a student at AAB Adi Sucipto Aviation Vocational High School representing Special Region of Yogyakarta, is entrusted as the commander.

Meanwhile, Marine Captain Rachmatsah Adi Putera serves as the Flag-Hoisting Troop Commander. He is currently the commander of H Rifle Company at the 9th Infantry Battalion, 4th Infantry Brigade of the Marine Corps.

With the formation of the Sovereign Indonesia Flag-Hoisting Team, all selected members are ready to perform their duties at the 81st Independence Day ceremony. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (DH/EP)
