Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia at the Inauguration of Rehabilitated Jongke Market, Surakarta City, Central Java Province, July 27, 2024
Bismillahirrahmanirrahim,
Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
Good morning,
May prosperity be upon us all.
Distinguished Governor of Central Java Province,
Mayor of Solo city,
All attending Regents of Solo city,
A market is the center of the people’s economy where all goods, all commodities produced by farmers, fishermen, and craftsmen are traded in our local market.
Today, we are going to inaugurate Jongke market.
Maybe someone can tell me the difference between the old Jongke market and the newly rehabilitated Jongke market? Anyone who came here before the rehabilitation? Is it better now? I am also surprised to see this market which I think is better than a mall.
But most importantly, the market should have a good parking area for motorcycles and cars, so the buyers will feel comfortable. Also, the sellers should provide good service to the customers in a pleasant manner. The lady sellers can put on their make up before going to the market as part of providing good service to the customers.
Most importantly, I want the people to keep the market clean, hygienic, and not to make it dirty and smell bad. When I came inside, I could see that it is managed very well.
And, by saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, today I inaugurate the rehabilitated Jongke market which has a total area of 29,000 square meters and spent a budget of Rp124 billion in Surakarta city, Central Java province.
I thank you.
Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
