State Guests Arrive in Jakarta for Inauguration of New President, VP
State leaders and special envoys from various friendly countries have arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport to attend inauguration ceremony of Indonesia’s President and Vice President for the 2024-2029 term of service on Sunday (10/20).
Vice President of the People’s Republic of China, Han Zheng, landed at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Saturday (10/19).
Previously, other state leaders have also arrived at the airport, among others First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, Vice President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic Pany Yathotou, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Vanuatu Charlot Salwai Tabimasmas, Sultan of Brunei Darussalam Hassanal Bolkiah Muiz’zaddin Wad’daulah, Prime Minister of Timor-Leste Xanana Gusmao, and Prime Minister of Serbia Miloš Vučević.
The arrival of the state leaders reflects their close ties and cooperation with Indonesia. It also delivers highest appreciation for Indonesia’s democratic transition.
On the same day, a number of special envoys also began arriving at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, Special Envoy of the United States of America is among those who arrived on Saturday (10/19). Her arrival affirmed commitment of the United States to support Indonesia’s democracy and to strengthen cooperation on various sectors.
Previously, other special envoys have also arrived at the airport, among others Special Envoy of the Republic of India Pabitra Margherita, Special Envoy of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan, Senator of the Russian Federation Ilyas Umakhanov, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam, and Special Envoy of the Arab Republic of Egypt Usama Al-Azhari.
