President Prabowo Sets High Expectation for Indonesian Asian Games Delegates
President Prabowo Subianto Wednesday (09/09) conveyed high expectation for the performances of Indonesian contingent that will compete at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
The statement was made by the President at the send-off ceremony of Indonesian contingent at the State Palace, Jakarta.
On that occasion, he also expressed appreciation for the hard work and sacrifice of the athletes in delivering their best performance to the state in the upcoming sports event.
“You are willing to sacrifice your time to practice. I know it requires a huge sacrifice in order to be a champion. I once heard an Olympic trainer said that there are three formula to become a champion; practice, practice, and practice. I always hold onto that. This means that to reach this position, you have all struggled hard,” he said.
The Head of the State also reminded the athletes that they are representing the country and the nation of Indonesia at the Asian Games.
“I congratulate you. Good luck in representing the state and the country. Godspeed. Make the country proud. Give your very best. Show the world that Indonesians are tough, high-spirited, and persistent,” he said.
