Following the ceremony commemorating 81st anniversary of Indonesia’s independence at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Monday (8/17), a variety of culinary offerings from micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) around the Presidential Palace Complex were served to the public.

For MSME owners, the opportunity to participate in the celebration brought a strong sense of pride and joy.

Dyah, the owner of Ayam Ancuur Juanda, a chicken restaurant, expressed her delight that her business had been selected to provide food for the event.

Alhamdulillah, we received an order for 1,100 portions; 700 for the morning [flag-hoisting ceremony] and 400 for the afternoon flag-lowering [ceremony],” she said, while expressing hope that more MSMEs would be involved in future events.

Cak Sikin, the owner of Soto Ayam Ambengan culinary business, also expressed his happiness at taking part in the 81st anniversary celebration alongside other MSME owners.

“I am very happy to be here. It is a joy to gather with fellow food vendors. The event is bustling, and I hope it brings blessings to everyone,” he said.

In the meantime, Arham, who attended the event, expressed his enthusiasm for exploring the variety of culinary options available to the public, adding that the banquet provided an opportunity to recharge his energy after the ceremony.

“I want to look around for something delicious because after attending the ceremony, I need a good meal,” he said.

This banquet, which brought people together to enjoy assorted dishes provided by MSME actors, enlivened the festive atmosphere of the 81st anniversary of independence.  (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (DH/EP)
