President Prabowo, U.S. Ambassador to ASEAN Discuss Strengthened Strategic Partnership, Regional Stability

President Prabowo Subianto Saturday afternoon (09/05) received the United States Ambassador to ASEAN Kevin Kim and the Chargé d’affaires ad interim of the US Mission to ASEAN Joy M. Sakurai at his private residence in Hambalang, West Java province.

In a written statement, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya noted that the meeting was held in a cordial and productive atmosphere. The discussion underscored ongoing efforts to strengthen the ties and strategic partnership between Indonesia and the United States.

“During the meeting, [they] also discussed several initiatives to enhance cooperation between the two countries, including promoting cooperation and stability in the region, as well as strengthening relations between the two countries based on the principles of mutual respect and equal partnership,” he stated.

The Cabinet Secretary also mentioned that the meeting is expected to strengthen the foundation of relations between Indonesia and the United States, both bilaterally and through cooperation to support progress in the region.

“This meeting is expected to further strengthen the foundation of Indonesia-United States relations, while also fostering closer, more constructive, and mutually beneficial cooperation, both bilaterally and in promoting regional peace, stability, and progress,” he added.

Accompanying President Prabowo at the meeting were Minister for Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (NST/LW)
