President Prabowo Subianto received the official visit of Prime Minister of the Republic of Fiji, H.E. Sitiveni Ligamamada Rabuka at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday (24/04). The visit became a pivotal moment to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and Fiji.

Prime Minister Rabuka arrived at the Merdeka Palace at around 10:30 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB), welcomed by the guard of honor, 70 cavalry troops, and 200 elementary students waving the national flags of Indonesia and Fiji. The ceremony began with the national anthem performance of the two countries and 19 times canon boom of honor.

President Prabowo and Prime Minister Rabuka held tête-à-tête meeting to discuss various strategic issues of common interests. During bilateral meeting, the delegates focused on strengthening cooperations in various fields. After the meeting, President Prabowo and Prime Minister Rabuka gave a joint press statement.

The official visit was ended by a state luncheon at the State Palace, marking the close tie of Indonesia – Fiji diplomatic relation based on friendships and cooperations.
