President Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin Palace on Monday (04/13). The meeting took place in the palace’s office in a warm and highly cordial atmosphere.

In his opening remarks during the meeting, President Putin expressed appreciation for President Prabowo’s visit to Moscow. “First of all, allow me to convey my most sincere gratitude to Your Excellency for accepting our invitation and visiting Moscow,” President Putin said.

President Prabowo also expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the warm reception amid President Putin’s packed schedule.

“Amid Your Excellency’s schedule, Your Excellency could receive me. I am very grateful,” said President Prabowo.

During the meeting, the two Heads of State discussed various strategic issues as well as opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors. Following the meeting, the agenda continued with a limited tête-à-tête format meeting during a lunch reception at the Blue Hall, Kremlin Palace.

Diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Russia have been established for 76 years since they were officially opened in 1950. Over more than seven decades, the two countries have continuously nurtured relations based on mutual respect and shared interests.

For Indonesia, Russia is an important and strategic partner with significant geopolitical and geo-economic implications. Meanwhile, Indonesia is one of Russia’s main partners in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly within ASEAN.

This Kremlin meeting not only strengthens bilateral ties but also reaffirms the active roles of Indonesia and Russia in maintaining regional and global stability while promoting prosperity. (BPMI) (EST/AW)
