Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that Indonesia has been able to manage the current geopolitical situation and confirmed that rumor claiming the country will experience chaos in the near future is a misleading narrative.

Therefore, the Government called on all people in Indonesia to join hands in maintaining the national stability and to avoid being influenced by narratives that could cause public distrust.

Cabinet Secretary also emphasized that the national situation remains stable and under control. This is evidenced by the Government’s ability to maintain price stability and keep providing subsidized fuel prices at the same price despite global pressures, including the conflict in the Middle East.

“The people’s purchasing power is maintained,” he said.

He added that delivering accurate and accountable information is important amid massive distribution of opinions that are not based on accurate data which could potentially cause public distrust.

“It is okay to have different opinions and views. It is also okay to criticize us but the statement should not make the public afraid and distrust the country,” he added.

On that occasion, Teddy also affirmed the Government’s commitment to uphold law enforcement through a search conducted by the prosecutor office to Ministry of Public Works regarding alleged corruption. The Government, he added, respects the ongoing legal procedures without discrimination.

He called on all layers of society to maintain optimism and trust in Indonesia’s future, while the Government continues to address its shortcomings.

Regarding the upcoming agenda of President Prabowo Subianto abroad, the Cabinet Secretary said that the President is slated to conduct state visits to several countries. In Russia, the President will enhance cooperation on energy sector.  (HIM/AIT) (RAS/LW)
