President Prabowo Subianto held a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, Saturday (01/25). The meeting, which took place at Hyderabad House, New Delhi, was part of President Prabowo’s state visit to strengthen strategic cooperation between Indonesia and India.

Upon his arrival at Hyderabad House, President Prabowo was greeted directly by PM Narendra Modi. They both looked warm as they greeted each other before taking a group photo on the front lawn of Hyderabad House.

After the photo session, President Prabowo and PM Modi continued the agenda with a limited meeting in the Nilgiri Room. This meeting served as an important moment for the two leaders to discuss strategic issues first-hand and in depth.

Afterwards, the delegations of both countries joined the Delegation Level Talks that took place in the Gimar Room. In this session, a number of cooperation agendas were discussed by the two leaders and their delegations.

After the meeting, President Prabowo and PM Modi witnessed the exchange of Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) in various fields. In addition, the CEO Forum report from the meeting of businesspersons of both countries was also officially submitted to the two leaders.

In his press statement, President Prabowo expressed his deep gratitude for the warm welcome during his first state visit to India. The Head of State also appreciated the invitation to attend India’s Republic Day as a chief guest.

“Considering that the first chief guest at the first Indian Republic Day parade was President Soekarno, it is a great honor for me that I will represent Indonesia tomorrow,” said President Prabowo.

The series of meetings ended with a luncheon in the Kedar Room that was attended by both delegations. Before leaving Hyderabad House, President Prabowo also signed the state guest book. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/ABD)
