Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Good morning,

May peace be upon us all,

Distinguished Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources,

Distinguished Governor of West Nusa Tenggara, Regent of West Sumbawa,

Distinguished President Commissioner of PT Amman Mineral, President Commissioner of PT Amman Mineral Internasional and all of the Board of Directors,

Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen,

We are aware that 56 percent of our GDP depends on domestic consumption. This must change. Therefore, I am pleased that this morning, as one of seven countries with the largest copper reserves in the world, we have entered a new stage in copper industrial downstreaming. We seek to become an advanced industrial country by processing natural resources independently.

Once it happens, our GDP growth will no longer rely on consumption. Rather, it will rely on production. It will depend on production instead of consumption. We also want the world to rely on our country, Indonesia, for copper products, be it cathode sheets, cables, or copper foils. We will produce everything here. We will no longer export raw material.

Alhamdulillah, today we will inaugurate the copper smelter and gold refinery of PT Amman with an investment of Rp21 trillion. This is not a small amount. This is a considerable investment and it uses the double flash cyclone technology to produce copper cathodes as the main product.

You can imagine [what would happen] if PT Amman mines and processes 900,000 tons of concentrate annually in Sumbawa. Imagine if all of the amount was only exported in the form of raw concentrate. There would be no added value. The added value would be created in countries that have smelters. Thus, I highly appreciate the courage and good intentions of PT Amman. The new smelter of Amman in West Sumbawa will have a production capacity of 220,000 tons of copper cathodes, 18 tons of gold, 55 tons of silver, and 850,000 tons of sulfuric acid as a byproduct.

I hope that the smelter operations can truly have the most significant multiplier. I hope it will create jobs and increase the GRDP of West Nusa Tenggara province and West Sumbawa regency. I also hope that all of the people in West Nusa Tenggara and across Indonesia can gain the greatest benefits.

By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this morning I hereby inaugurate the copper smelter and gold refinery of Amman.

Thank you.

Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
