President Prabowo Subianto Attends SPIEF 2025 Plenary Session, Calls for Strategic Collaboration Amid Global Geopolitical Shifts

President Prabowo Subianto attended and delivered a speech at the plenary session of the 2025 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) at the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre in St. Petersburg, Russia, on Friday (06/20). President Prabowo’s presence at the forum marked an important moment for Indonesia to reaffirm its role and strategic position amid the evolving dynamics of a multipolar world.
This year’s SPIEF plenary session carried the theme “Shared Values: The Foundation of Growth in a Multipolar World” and was attended by world leaders, including President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin as host, Prince Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa of Bahrain as SPIEF Co-Partner, Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang, and South African Deputy President Paul Mashatile.
President Prabowo had the honor of delivering his remarks immediately following the opening address by President Vladimir Putin. In his speech, President Prabowo expressed his appreciation for the invitation to speak at the international forum, describing SPIEF as a vital platform that brings together leaders from across the globe.
“I am honored to be invited and to have the opportunity to speak at this forum, the 2025 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum,” said President Prabowo.
President Prabowo also regarded the forum as a strategic venue where countries from the West, the East, and the Global South can cultivate trust and foster mutually beneficial cooperation, particularly in the face of increasingly complex global geopolitical challenges.
“This forum brings together leaders from the West, the Global South, the East, and the meeting point of Eurasia,” President Prabowo stated. “Indonesia sees this gathering as an opportunity to build strategic trust and reach mutual understandings amid an increasingly complex geopolitical landscape.”
