Hundreds of members of the West Java Student Council Forum (FOJB) took part in the “Palace for Students” program, Tuesday (05/05).

This program offered a hands-on learning experience for the younger generations about the workings of the Government and the nation’s historical journey.

The program opened with a presentation on the government system and a motivational address from Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya at Hoegeng Auditorium.

The session not only introduced the students to the structure of government, but also encouraged them to dream big and actively contribute to the nation.

“Earlier, it was really exciting, it’s hard to put into words,” said Salsabila Nuria Muharam, Chairperson of FOJB.

She added that Mr. Wijaya’s remarks motivated the students, who often still feel hesitant to push through to the finish line, reminding them that life only happens once, so it should be made meaningful and every opportunity should be used well.

A special moment occurred during the event when the Cabinet Secretary received a phone call from President Prabowo Subianto.

On that occasion, Oryza, a student from State Senior High School 2 Sukatani in North Cikarang, was invited to speak directly with the President, creating an unforgettable experience for the students.

“I also had the chance to speak with the President. He asked what time we would arrive at Istana Merdeka. then joked, ‘Don’t stay too long because I’m going there too.’

A moment later, the President asked the Cabinet Secretary what time it would be, and I replied that we would arrive at around half past one.

The President then said, ‘Alright, you can come in together with me later, so we’ll meet there,” Oryza recalled.

After the briefing session, participants were invited to tour the Jakarta Presidential Palace complex, including Merdeka Palace, the Presidential Office, and State Palace.

They observed firsthand the rooms where important state decisions are made, gaining a more concrete understanding of how the Government operates.

Another memorable moment came when President Prabowo Subianto arrived at Merdeka Palace. The students greeted the President with enthusiastic applause and waves as he stepped out of his vehicle to personally greet and shake hands with the students.

The atmosphere grew even warmer when the students joined in singing a welcome song, creating a sense of togetherness and joy.

After the welcoming session, all students lined up neatly for a group photo with the President, capping the visit with a valuable and unforgettable experience for the participants. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RD/EP)
