President Prabowo Subianto Friday (09/19) departed for New York, the United States, to attend the 80th Session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.

According to Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, the President’s participation in this international forum serves as a key agenda of Indonesian diplomacy, as President Prabowo is scheduled to address the UN General Debate.

“Based on the schedule received, President Prabowo is slated to deliver the third speech at the UN General Debate on September 23, 2025, after the Presidents of Brazil and the United States,” Cabinet Secretary said in a written statement.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy also highlighted the strategic significance of the forum for Indonesia.

“This year’s General Assembly is a vital opportunity for Indonesia, not only to once again appear at the highest level in the UN forum, but also to reaffirm its position as a leader of the Global South that consistently advocates for more just and inclusive global governance,” he explained.

In addition to attending the session in New York, the President will also carry out a series of visits to several other countries.

“Following his visit to New York, President Prabowo will travel to Ottawa, Canada, on September 24, 2025, for a meeting with the Canadian Prime Minister. He will then continue to The Hague, the Netherlands, on September 26, 2025, to meet with the King and the Caretaker Prime Minister,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy stated.

On his way to New York, he added, the President is also scheduled to make a short stopover in Japan.

“Before reaching New York, President Prabowo will make a refueling stop in Osaka, Japan, for a few hours and visit the Indonesian Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RIF/TM)
