President Prabowo Subianto Begins Singapore State Visit

President Prabowo Subianto Sunday evening (05/15) departed for Singapore for a state visit.

The President with a limited number of delegates took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in East Jakarta, at about 6.20 p.m. Western Indonesian Time.

The President’s departure was escorted by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming, Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia.

In Singapore, the President is scheduled to attend a number of important agendas on Monday (06/16).

President Prabowo is officially welcomed by President Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam in a state ceremony held at Parliament House of Singapore, marking the diplomatic intimacy between the two countries.

Aside from the series of visits, the President is also scheduled to have a courtesy call with President Tharman.

“Not only having a meeting with President of Singapore; President Prabowo Subianto is also scheduled to attend a bilateral meeting, Leader’s Retreat with Prime Minister of Singapore Lawrence Wong,” said Deputy of Protocol, Pers, and Media, Presidential Secretariat, Yusuf Permana in his written statement.

The visit is a strategic momentum to strengthen Indonesia and Singapore’s partnership in various sectors.

Joining the President during the visit were Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RD/EP)
