President Jokowi Attends National Prayer to Commemorate Independence Day

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, accompanied by Ibu Iriana Joko Widodo and Ibu Wurry Ma’ruf Amin attended the National Prayer in commemoration of the upcoming Indonesian Independence Day on the August 17, at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Thursday (08/01).

In his remarks, the President called for unity in addressing global challenges and threats of crises in the future. According to the President, unity is the key to addressing every problem and various challenges that continue to emerge.

“To that end, as a nation we must always unite, support each other, and pray for each other for our nation and for the progress of our beloved country Indonesia,” President Jokowi said.

The President also expressed his gratitude for the protection and grace from Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala so that Indonesia could overcome various challenges, including global crises, geopolitical uncertainties, and climate change.

“Let me extend our praise and gratitude to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala for all His protection and grace for Indonesia, so that we can overcome various challenges, including global crises, geopolitical uncertainties, and climate change,” the President said.

On that occasion, President Jokowi and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin extended their apology to the people for all the mistakes when carrying out their mandate as President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia.

The President also invited the people to pray for the nation, so that Indonesia would become an advanced and prosperous nation.

“I invite all of us to pray together, asking for help from Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, so that Indonesia will become an advanced nation, with blessing from the Almighty God (baldatun thayyibatun wa rabbun ghafur),” the President remarked.
