President Prabowo Subianto Celebrates Indonesia-India Ties at State Dinner

President Prabowo Subianto Saturday (01/25) attended a state dinner hosted by Indian President Droupadi Murmu at the Indian Presidential Palace, Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Both leaders had dinner in a warm and friendly atmosphere, showing good relationship between both countries.

In his remarks, President Murmu pointed up the importance of the long-standing bilateral relation between Indonesia and India for 75 years.

“Indonesia is our best friend. We share a common vision as maritime population and as partners in Indo-Pacific region,” President Murmu said.

President Murmu also highlighted a significant contribution given by the Indian community in Indonesia in strengthening both countries’ cultural and economic relation. She also expressed hope that both countries can enhance cooperation in trade, investment, digital technology, and maritime security securities.

Meanwhile, President Prabowo Subianto in his remarks expressed a sincere appreciation for the invitation and warm welcome extended by the Government of India.

The President also said he felt honored to be the guest of honor in the celebration of the 76th  Republic of India Day, recalling a historic moment when the first President of the Republic of Indonesia Soekarno as the guest of honor attended the first Republic of India Day.

“It is truly a huge honor for me. It means that I could follow the track of the Founding Father of the Republic of Indonesia,” he said.

The President also showed his appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in eradicating poverty and improving people’s welfare, while firmly stating his commitment to boosting strategic cooperation between Indonesia and India in various sectors, including health, pharmacy, education, maritime security, and digital technology.

“I would like to reiterate my commitment, my determination to enhance our cooperation and friendship. Indeed, India and Indonesia have a long ancient history. We have civilization relation. Even until today, the important part of our language came from Sanskrit,” the President added.

The dinner attended by both states’ delegations served as an important symbol of a closer partnership between Indonesia and India.

President Prabowo Subianto also expressed hope that the bilateral relation can continue to grow in order to bring concrete benefits for the peoples of both countries.
