President Prabowo Subianto Tuesday (11/04) conducted an on-site inspection of public transportation services at Manggarai train station in South Jakarta.

Arriving at the station at around 11:00 a.m. local time, President Prabowo assessed the integration of intermodal transport services in the area. The Head of State also greeted and briefly spoke with several passengers waiting for their departures, asking about the comfort and accessibility of services at the station.

In addition, the President also observed a display panel showcasing the operational systems and new facilities at both Manggarai station and the newly constructed Tanah Abang station. He later inspected a special train designated for farmers and traders on one of the Manggarai platforms. The train is expected to support the distribution of agricultural produce and local goods.

Following the inspection, President Prabowo joined passengers aboard a commuter line train heading to Tanah Abang station. Inside the carriage, the President interacted with passengers and paid attention to the train’s condition, cleanliness, and the overall comfort of passengers using the city’s mass transit system.

The 15-minute trip from Manggarai to Tanah Abang provided the President a view of Jakarta’s dense urban landscape, noting the importance of an efficient and affordable public transportation system for millions of daily commuters. For President Prabowo, the experience aboard the commuter train served as an opportunity to understand the needs of passengers.

Upon arrival at Tanah Abang Station, he inspected the passenger areas, intermodal integration facilities, and pedestrian access points. The inspection along the capital’s rail network underscores the Government’s commitment to strengthen a public transportation system that is affordable, integrated, and comfortable for all.  (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (GWH/MMB)
