President Prabowo Subianto Swears in Muhidin as South Kalimantan Governnor
In a ceremony held at the State Palace, Jakarta, President Prabowo Subianto Monday (12/16) officially swore in Muhidin as Governor of South Kalimantan for the remainder of the 2021-2024 term.
The swearing-in ceremony was conducted following Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 160/P of 2024 on the Approval of Dismissal of the Governor and Deputy Governor of South Kalimantan for the 2021-2024 Term and the Approval of Appointment of the Governor of South Kalimantan for the Remainder of the 2021-2024 Term.
The decree was recited by Deputy for Apparatus Administrative Affairs of Ministry of State Secretariat Nanik Purwanti.
Following the inauguration, Muhidin officially assumes his duties as Governor of South Kalimantan until the newly elected governor from the 2024 nationwide simultaneous regional elections takes office.
“I do solemnly swear that I will fulfill my obligations as Governor in the best and fairest way possible, uphold the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, and execute all laws and regulations in the most faithful manner, and dedicate myself to the service for the people, the state, and the nation,” Muhidin said, repeating after the President.
In his remarks to the media, Muhidin reiterated his commitment to continuing the existing programs before resuming his duties as the elected Governor of South Kalimantan.
“Alhamdulillah, yesterday we received a letter from the President confirming that I would be sworn-in today. I will continue my duties until around February 7, after which I will resume as the elected Governor of South Kalimantan,” he said.
