President Prabowo Subianto, Friday (04/24), received Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) who also helms the Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara) Investment Management Agency Rosan Roeslani at the President’s private residence in Hambalang, Bogor regency to discuss downstream industry projects to be commenced soon in 13 locations across Indonesia.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said that the development of these downstream industry projects will be accelerated and the incoming investments will be focused on several key sectors, such as waste-to-energy, mineral resources, agricultural industry, labor-intensive industries, and garment.
He added that President Prabowo urged to expand downstreaming to also include agricultural and fisheries sectors, not only energy and mineral resources sectors.
These projects reaffirmed the Government’s policy directions, namely developing a value-added economy, expanding job opportunities, and strengthening national competitiveness across the entire value chain from upstream to downstream.
With strong Government support and a continuous inflow of investment, the downstream industry is expected to serve as the main driver in realizing an advanced Indonesia that is economically sovereign and resilient on the global stage. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RAS/MMB)
