President Prabowo Subianto receives Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry/Head of the Danantara Investment Management Agency Rosan Roeslani at his private residence in Kertanegara, Jakarta, on Sunday (06/21).
In a meeting at his private Kertanegara residence on Sunday (06/21), President Prabowo Subianto and Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry/Head of the Danantara Investment Management Agency Rosan Roeslani discussed a more optimal strategy for Indonesia’s state assets to ensure greater benefits for the public.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya highlighted President Prabowo’s commitment to strengthening efforts in the national asset management by accelerating SOE transformation and developing new economic sectors to drive national growth.
“[We must] manage the nation’s assets more effectively to generate greater benefits for the people,” the Cabinet Secretary said in a written statement.
During the meeting, the Cabinet Secretary added that the President and the Minister mapped out new economic growth opportunities to be spearheaded by Danantara, including strengthening the tourism sector through the organization of various national and international events.
“New economic growth opportunities to be driven by Danantara include strengthening the tourism sector through the organization of sports events, music concerts, and creative industry initiatives. These efforts are expected to create jobs, attract investment, and stimulate the national economic turnover,” he said.
In addition to developing new economic sectors, the President also paid attention to the ongoing consolidation and transformation of SOEs, aiming to eliminate inefficiencies and tighten SOE governance.
According to the Cabinet Secretary, the Government has already consolidated 258 out of 1,077 SOEs. It also plans to consolidate approximately 300 more in the near future. “This step is expected to improve efficiency, strengthen governance, and reduce the cost burden that the state has been bearing,” he said.
These initiatives are part of President Prabowo’s broader agenda to make the nation’s wealth a driver of sustainable economic growth, enhance the country’s competitiveness, and ensure that every state asset provides the greatest possible added value for the people’s prosperity.
