President Prabowo Meets Muslim World League Secretary-General to Bolster Indonesia’s Role in Global Peace, Hajj Services

President Prabowo Subianto welcomed the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Abdul Karim Al-Issa in a meeting at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday (12/04).

Accompanying the President were the Speaker of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Ahmad Muzani and the Vice Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak.

Dahnil, after the meeting, told the press that Sheikh Al-Issa expressed belief that Indonesia, under President Prabowo’s leadership, holds significant influence in the Islamic world as well as on the global stage. In addition, Dahnil said, Sheikh Al-Issa also conveyed hope that Indonesia can become a key representative of the Islamic world in championing peace.

“President Prabowo has considerable influence in ensuring that the global peace agenda, especially in the Islamic World, can be carried out smoothly. Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Karim also expressed deepest appreciation for President Prabowo’s role in efforts toward solutions and peace in Gaza or Palestine. His leadership has been acknowledged not only by the Islamic world, but also by the West,” Dahnil said.

On that occasion, Dahnil also stated that the President expressed appreciation to the Muslim World League and the Government of Saudi Arabia for their support on the plan to develop the Hajj Village in Saudi Arabia. “The President also conveyed hope that the Hajj Village will continuously improve hajj service quality in the future,” he added.

This meeting, Dahnil said, underscored the strengthening relations between Indonesia and the Muslim World League, as well as the President’s commitment to promoting global peace and enhancing services for the Muslim community.

According to Dahnil, Sheikh Al-Issa also invited the President to speak at the Muslim World League Congress. “The President of the Muslim World League invited President Prabowo to speak at the Muslim World League Congress. The schedule will be adjusted to President Prabowo’s availability. They hope President Prabowo will deliver messages of peace and promote unity to the Islamic world.
