President Jokowi Kicks Off East Kalimantan Working Visit

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo embarked on a working visit to East Kalimantan province on Sunday (08/11). The President and his entourage took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta aboard the Presidential Aircraft Indonesia-1 at around 2:00 p.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB).

Upon arriving at Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan International Airport in Balikpapan city, East Kalimantan province, the President is slated to head to the Nusantara Capital (IKN), in Penajam Paser Utara regency, using the Air Force’s Super Puma helicopter. The President will stay overnight in the IKN to continue his activities the next day.

“The President will resume working from the IKN for the next few days. He is scheduled to hold the first plenary cabinet meeting and will lead the groundbreaking ceremony of several supporting infrastructure projects in the IKN,” said Yusuf Permana, Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat, in a written statement.

Accompanying President Jokowi on the flight were Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Investment /Head of the Investment Coordinating Board Bahlil Lahadalia, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Deputy Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), who also serves as Deputy Head of the IKN Authority, Raja Juli Antoni, Presidential Military Secretary Major General TNI Rudy Saladin, Commander of the Presidential Security Detail Major General TNI Achiruddin, and Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat M.
