President Prabowo Subianto, Wednesday (09/02), received warm welcome from Indonesian students in Russia when he was visiting Vladivostok, the Russian Federation for a state visit. A number of students enthusiastically waved the Indonesian national flag to welcome the Head of the State.

Andini Yuliasari, a student based in Vladivostok for the past four years, said that she was nervous and excited to meet in person with President Prabowo. She said that this is a one-in-a-lifetime moment for her.

She added that President Prabowo’s visit to Vladivostok is a particular honor for the Indonesian people. She also expressed belief that the President’s participation in the 11th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) can further strengthen relations between Indonesia and Russia. Andini also wished for President Prabowo’s good health and contribution to advance the country.

In the meantime, Kiki Rizki Agustiani, a postgraduate psychology student, said she was excited to be able to welcome President Prabowo in person. Kiki, who has lived in Vladivostok for three years, said that President Prabowo is the first Indonesian President she met in person in the city.

“Honestly, I’m really happy because this is also my first experience. I’ve been here in Russia, in Vladivostok, and the first president to visit the city after such a long time is President Prabowo,” she said.

She also encouraged the President to continue his hard work in carrying on the duties and responsibilities in leading Indonesian people.

The brief meeting left a deep impression on the students. The wave of the Indonesian Red and White flag thousands of kilometers from the homeland, and the warm greetings of Indonesian children in Vladivostok reminded us that their connection and love for Indonesia will always unite us.
