Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi delivers a press statement at the Presidential Palace Compound in Jakarta, on Monday (06/15).

The Government assured that efforts to boost market and economic actors’ confidence are still ongoing through various strategic policies, including enhancing the enhancement of investment climate, acceleration of deregulation, and promotion of downstreaming and industrialization. The Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi conveyed this message in his press statement at the Presidential Palace Compound in Jakarta on Monday (06/15).

The Minister stated that the issuance of global bonds by Danantara serves as one piece of evidence of the growing trust of international investors in Indonesia.

“Regarding the global bond, the issuance is Danantara’s [predetermined] target and it has successfully proven the high level of investor confidence across America, Europe, and Asia. This is something we should be deeply grateful for, and I would like to extend my gratitude to Mr. Rosan for his hard work,” said the Minister.

The Minister explained that the Government is continuously taking various measures to strengthen economic fundamentals, maintain market perceptions, and improve the national investment climate.

“Over the past one to two weeks, we have been continuously striving to strengthen coordination and cooperation, particularly to implement policies that we hope can reinforce our currency, public perception, and market perception,” he explained.

Besides upholding investor confidence, the Minister noted that the Government remains committed to fostering structural reforms through deregulation and acceleration of downstreaming as well as industrialization.

“Regarding deregulation, the President has declared multiple times that we must continuously strive to streamline our licensing process. Therefore, our investment climate and economic ecosystem can grow far more competitively,” he said.

The Minister of State Secretary further elaborated that the Government is pushing for accelerated downstreaming and industrialization as strategic measures to strengthen national economic independence.

“On one hand, industrialization and downstreaming aim to reduce our dependence on imported goods. On the other hand, we ultimately hope that the products generated through them will provide value added, thereby generating greater wealth for our nation and state,” the Minister added.

Furthermore, Minister Prasetyo underscored that stability is a crucial factor in maintaining a conducive business climate and strengthening the national economy. Therefore, the Government invited all elements of Indonesian society, business actors, and economic agents to work and collaborate in maintaining trust and restoring as well as strengthening Indonesia’s economy.

“Let us all; the entire community, market players, and economic agents, join hands, cooperate, and work hard to restore, recover, and strengthen our economy,” concluded the Minister. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (NST/MMB)
