Over the past 80 years, Indonesia has faced ups and downs, including ideological conflicts and major challenges, but has remained united and grown stronger, President Prabowo Subianto said.
“Alhamdulillah, we are now whole, strong, and still standing on our own feet. Although we still face many shortcomings, such as corruption, which remains deeply rooted in our country,” President Prabowo stated in his remarks at the closing ceremony of the 6th National Congress of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) at The Sultan Hotel in Jakarta, Monday (09/29).
President Prabowo underscored that the barometer of a nation’s success lies in whether all its people can live in sufficiency and share in prosperity.
“Clearly, we want to become a successful nation, as mentioned earlier by the PKS President. A successful nation is one where all citizens can live in sufficiency and prosperity that is felt by the entire Indonesian people. That is our goal,” he added.
The Head of State also reaffirmed the constitutional mandate and the vision of Indonesia’s founding fathers, stressing that the country’s natural wealth must be fully controlled by the state for the benefit of the people, for the purpose of safeguarding the future of coming generations.
“I emphasize that the mandate of the Constitution and our founding fathers is that the land, the water, and all the natural resources contained therein must be controlled by the state and utilized to the greatest extent for the people’s welfare,” President Prabowo remarked.
