President Prabowo Subianto departed for Cebu, the Philippines, on Thursday (05/07) to attend the 48th ASEAN Summit, held from May 7–8, 2026. The President and his limited delegation departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base at approximately 09:10 Western Indonesia Time (WIB).

President Prabowo’s departure was officially seen off by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Head of the State Intelligence Agency Muhammad Herindra.

Upon arriving in Cebu, President Prabowo is scheduled to participate in one of the key agendas of the 48th ASEAN Summit, namely the BIMP-EAGA Summit (Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-the Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area). The forum serves as a strategic platform to strengthen connectivity and economic cooperation within the ASEAN subregion.

During the ASEAN Summit, President Prabowo is expected to talk about the strengthening of cooperation among ASEAN member states, including collective efforts to address current global dynamics. Topics to be discussed will include global developments affecting the region, efforts to maintain energy security, and enhanced coordination in responding to geopolitical challenges.

The meeting of ASEAN leaders is also expected to reinforce regional solidarity in maintaining stability, promoting economic growth, and advancing strategic cooperation across multiple sectors.
