Gov’t Reaffirms Commitment to Clean Governance, Prudent Resource Management

President Prabowo Subianto Monday (2/24) reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to building a clean, corruption-free administration while wisely managing the nation’s resources.

The President made the statement during the launch of the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara) at the Presidential Palace Courtyard, Jakarta.

Speaking at the event, the President expressed his determination to tackle corruption and promote good governance.

“Together with the Government I lead, supported by a strong coalition, I am committed to building a clean government, free from corruption. I will combat corruption with all the energy and effort at my disposal, without discrimination. This principle will also serve as the foundation for managing Danantara Indonesia,” President Subianto said.

The President also emphasized that the vision of wisely managing national resources is not a new concept; rather, it has been in place since Indonesia’s independence. He added that the strategic sectors such as agriculture and technology play an important role in strengthening the Indonesian economy.

“Our first President established the Bandung Institute of Technology because, to be independent and prosperous, we must master technology. The second President continued this development, and every subsequent president has contributed to bringing us to this point, where we are now able to launch Danantara Indonesia,” the President explained.

The launch of Danantara Indonesia marked a significant milestone in the country’s efforts to ensure that Indonesia’s wealth is used for the benefit of its people.

On that occasion, the President underscored that the new initiative aims to create the world’s largest sovereign wealth fund, with total assets exceeding US$900 billion.

“Some people may doubt whether this will succeed, as this is an unprecedented initiative. However, today, all Indonesians should take pride in this achievement. With total assets of over US$900 billion, Danantara Indonesia will become the largest sovereign wealth fund in the world,” he stated.

In his remarks, the President outlined Danantara Indonesia’s dual role as both an investment fund and a tool for optimizing the performance of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs).

He highlighted the importance of managing SOEs with high standards and robust governance.

“Danantara Indonesia will be a strategic and efficient solution for optimizing State-Owned Enterprises. We will not only invest SOE dividends in industries that drive long-term growth, but we will also transform our SOEs into world-class leaders in their respective sectors,” he added.

In addition, the Head of State revealed that Danantara Indonesia would not only focus on domestic development but also strengthen Indonesia’s position on the global stage.

“Through this initiative, we aim to establish strategic partnerships in renewable energy, infrastructure, and education, positioning Indonesia as a key global player and contributing to regional and global prosperity and stability,” the President remarked.
