President Prabowo Subianto has called for the legal proceedings for alleged criminal acts involving the interception of non-public communication, deletion of digital evidence, and unauthorized system access targeting the President and several other senior officials and prominent figures to be conducted objectively, transparently, and in accordance with laws and regulations.

This was conveyed by Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, during a press briefing at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday (11/4). The Minister explained that the President had expressed his support and instructed the Chief of the Indonesian National Police to ensure that the legal process proceeded properly, without any attempt to conceal information.

“The President has instructed the Chief of Police to ensure that the matter is handled as thoroughly as possible, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, and as objectively as possible, without anything being concealed,” he said.

The Minister further stated that the President had also expressed concern over developments in the case. Alongside the ongoing lawsuit, the President had signed a Presidential Decree on the dismissal of Listyo Sigit Prabowo from his position as Presidential Chief of Staff.

In the interim, the President has appointed Lieutenant General TNI Ariyo Windutomo as Acting Head of the Presidential Staff Office to fill the vacancy.

Furthermore, the Minister emphasized that the Government had coordinated with the Chief of Police to ensure that developments in this case would not affect police services to the public. The Government remains committed to ensuring that public services continue to operate as usual.

“We have also coordinated with the Chief of Police to ensure that, in particular, public services provided by the police are not diminished in any way,” he said.

Regarding the alleged wiretapping, the Minister explained that interception activities are regulated by applicable laws and regulations. He urged the public to remain calm and understand that the alleged violations involved the actions of certain individuals.

“We would like to assure the public that there is no need for concern, as these actions were allegedly carried out by certain individuals,” he concluded.

The Government expects the handling of this case to proceed in accordance with the law, with objectivity and transparency as the guiding principles, while safeguarding the interests of the State and ensuring the continued delivery of public services.
