President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday (09/26) visited Public Vocational School (SMKN) 1 Tanah Grogot, Paser regency, East Kalimantan province, to inspect the school’s educational facilities.

“I am happy to be here, in Paser regency, in such a school, SMKN 1 Tanah Grogot,” President Jokowi said before the students.

The President also told the students to continue their enthusiasm in pursuing education.

“Also, don’t forget to pray and exercise to stay healthy,” he added.

Jumansyah, a student who obtained a bicycle from the President because he answered the President’s quiz, expressed pride for the President’s presence at his school.

“I’m thrilled that a president came to my school. To Mr. President, thank you for the prize, for visiting our school. We are overjoyed and ecstatic. On behalf of all my friends, I extend my gratitude to you,” Jumansyah said.

For the record, President Jokowi inspected various school facilities, such as the marketing teaching factory, which includes minimarkets and edu-banks, and the office practice rooms used by students to learn practical skills in their respective fields.

The Head of State’s visit to SMK Negeri 1 Tanah Grogot is expected to motivate students to continue developing their skills, both in academic and vocational fields, for a brighter future. (BPMI Presidential Secretariat/DNS) (GWH/LW)
