Indonesia Founded to Stands with Its People, President Prabowo Says

President Prabowo Subianto affirmed the Government’s commitment to ensuring that the state is present for the people through various programs in health, social protection, and housing sectors.

“The Free Health Check-up Program has reached 108 million people. In 2025, 70.2 million participants were recorded, while 59.5 million were recorded by the end of June 2026. Some joined check-ups in both periods. We want this program to become even better,” the President said in his state of the nation address at the Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia and the House of Regional Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, August 14, 2026.

The Free Health Check-up Service is now available at 10,255 community health centers across all 38 provinces. In addition, the Government is building and upgrading 66 regional public hospitals in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost regions, as well as strengthening health services throughout the country.

“As of today, 20 newly completed regional public hospitals are operational. The state has fully covered JKN (National Health Insurance) premiums for 96.8 million poor and vulnerable citizens. Our JKN program may well be one of the largest health insurance systems in the world,” he said.

Regarding social protection program, the Government pushing for digitalization to ensure the social assistance program is distributed in a well-targeted and transparent manner. According to the President, digital registration system for social assistance is now operating in 153 districts and municipalities across all 38 provinces, with more than three million have been registered in that program.

”Previously, low-income households could spend Rp150.000 for transportation fees, documentation, photocopies, and lost time of work. Registration can now be done free of charge. Eligibility verification, which previously could take anywhere from 75 to 200 days, can now be completed in a matter of minutes or hours,” he explained, adding that the Government will continue to expand the digitalization across all social assistance programs, government assistance, and subsidies.

Moreover, the Government has also assisted people in purchasing affordable homes through the housing financing liquidity facility (FLPP) program. President Prabowo mentioned that Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance have been distributed, while the FLPP program has now reached nearly 100,000 homes.

”Eighty-one years ago, the nation’s founders bequeathed to us a Republic. It was not established merely for the state to exist, but to ensure that no citizen would ever feel alone.
