Gov’t Launches Golden Visa Program to Attract Global Talents, Investors

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday (07/25) attended the launching ceremony of “Golden Visa Indonesia” at the Ritz-Carlton, Jakarta.

“Today, there are not many countries that post positive economic growth and maintain political stability, with demographic dividend, and abundant natural resources. It means that Indonesia should become a promising investment destination and a destination for global talents,” the President said in his remarks at the launching ceremony.

According to the President, the Golden Visa is expected to generate multiplier effects for the country in terms of capital gain, job opportunities, technology transfer, and excellent human capital.

“The Golden Visa aims to facilitate foreigners to invest and work in our country and attract high quality travelers to invest and be productive when they stay here,” the President said, adding that the issuance of the visa will be implemented prudently.

“The Golden Visa program should be disseminated immediately through various channels to attract top investors and top global talents. I hope Ambassadors of friendly countries can disseminate this program to the people in their respective countries so the program will improve economic cooperation and strengthen good relations across the globe” the President remarked.  (ECH/ABD) (RI/MEP)
