President Prabowo to Launch National Planting Movement in Working Visit to South Sumatra

President Prabowo Subianto is launching the Indonesia Planting Movement (Gerakan Indonesia Menanam/Gerina) in Banyuasin regency, South Sumatra province, on Wednesday (04/23).

The President will depart from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta at around 08.30 a.m. Western Indonesian time for the working visit to South Sumatra.

Upon arrival at Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport in the provincial capital of Palembang, President Prabowo is set to leave for Banyuasin regency to launch the movement and participate in a collective planting activity with the communities.

“Gerina will be a concrete action to plant, grow, and harvest crops involving all elements of the Indonesian society. This movement is expected to contribute to the national efforts to realize food self-sufficiency and reinforce the national food resilience,” Presidential Secretariat Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media Yusuf Permana stated in a written statement.

Following the launch, President Prabowo is slated to return to Palembang for his flight back to Jakarta.
