President Prabowo Subianto received Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi at Istana Merdeka, Jakarta, on Tuesday (04/22).

The visit highlighted close relations between Indonesia and Malaysia, while fostering friendship between the two leaders.

Upon arrival at the Merdeka Palace, the Deputy Prime Minister was greeted by a guard of honor to show the state’s respect. President Prabowo Subianto, accompanied by Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, then personally welcomed the Deputy Minister.

Both leaders then proceeded to the credential room for a photo session. “Old friends, from our youth,” President Prabowo said, then headed to the President’s office to discuss strategic issues between the two countries.

The meeting discussed measures to enhance cooperation across various sectors. Both leaders also emphasized the importance of regional stability and reaffirmed their shared commitment to maintaining a harmonious relations between the two countries.

This state visit showcased commitment from both countries to continuously strengthen bilateral relations based on the spirit of brotherhood, mutual respect, and mutually beneficial cooperation across various sectors. The meeting took place in a friendly and warm atmosphere, highlighting the robust diplomatic ties between Indonesia and Malaysia, which continue to evolve amidst global and regional dynamics.
