President Prabowo Subianto Applauds Police Synergy in Maintaining National Stability
President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that a sense of security is not limited only to the absence of crime, but it must also provide peace to all of society to carry out their activities and live their lives. The Head of State Wednesday (07/01) conveyed his statement during his remarks at 2026 Commemoration Ceremony of 80th Bhayangkara Day at the Mobile Brigade Corps (Korbrimob) training field in Cikeas, Bogor regency, West Java province.
“Security does not only mean the absence of crime. Security means that the people are free to work, farmers feel at ease to plant, fishermen feel at ease to go to sea, entrepreneurs feel at ease to invest, teachers feel at ease to teach, children can study calmly, and people can worship peacefully according to their respective religions and beliefs in a harmonious environment that promote tolerance,” the President stated.
He also expressed his gratitude for the maintained national security stability which serves as an important capital for Indonesia to continue moving toward a developed and prosperous country. According to the President, various efforts to hinder nation’s revival will not be able to stop Indonesia which possesses immense strength and potential.
“I am grateful that national security stability continues to be maintained. Indeed, every time Indonesia is about to rise, there are always some efforts to impede or even to obstruct [our] revival. But our nation is very big, very strong, and has many capitals. So, trust me: Indonesia will rise,” he emphasized.
The Head of State also appreciated the synergy between Indonesian National Police (Polri), Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), ministries and institutions, regional governments, state-owned enterprises (SOEs), as well as all stakeholders in maintaining security during various national momentums. As stated by the President, this success has enabled millions of people to travel and gather with their families safely, while simultaneously improving the quality of public services and reducing traffic accidents rates.
“These achievements demonstrate that the state is present every time the people need it,” he uttered.
However, the President warned that future security challenges will become increasingly complex. Global geopolitical dynamics, technological developments, and the emergence of various new forms of crime demand all security apparatuses to continue adapting and improving their capacity.
“Our challenges are not getting any easier. The world is full of conflicts and tensions. War in one part of the world could affect us. Crime is also becoming more sophisticated and constantly evolving. Threats change and technology can also be used for malicious purposes. Therefore, our way of working must also adjust,” he stated.
During his remarks, the President also specifically highlighted a number of serious threats that must continue to be a collective concern, ranging from narcotics trafficking, online gambling, human trafficking, cybercrime, terrorism, corruption, to various illegal economic practices such as smuggling, illegal mining, illegal plantations, and white-collar crimes that are deemed greatly detrimental to the nation.
Nevertheless, President Prabowo expressed his appreciation for the success of the Polri along with various related institutions in uncovering thousands of narcotics cases, eradicating online gambling in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, as well as maintaining zero terrorism incidents over the past few years.
“These are achievements we need to appreciate. But I also need to say and remind us not to be complacent. Never be easily satisfied,” he asserted.
President Prabowo also reminded everyone that the struggle of state apparatuses remains long. According to the President, poverty faced by certain segments of society is inseparable from the [direct] impact of corruption, smuggling, and other illicit economic activities that must continue to be eradicated consistently.
“Our people are still suffering from poverty. And this poverty is a direct consequence of corruption, of smuggling, and of illegal economic activities.
