President Prabowo, King Abdullah II Witness Signing of Four Indonesia-Jordan Strategic MoUs

President Prabowo Subianto and His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Monday (4/14) witnessed the signing of four strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between Indonesia and Jordan at the Al Husseiniya Palace in Amman.
The signing ceremony was held in a spirit of partnership and mutual respect, which marked a significant milestone in President Prabowo’s state visit to Jordan.
The visit also aimed to further enhance bilateral ties and bolster tangible cooperation that directly benefit the people of both nations.
In the face of evolving global challenges, both leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to fostering regional stability and driving sustainable development through strengthened collaboration.
The four MoUs signed are as follows:
- Agreement between the Government of Indonesia and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on Defense Sector. The agreement was signed by Indonesian Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi.
- Memorandum of Understanding between Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia and Ministry of Agriculture of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on Agriculture Cooperation. The MoU was signed by Indonesian Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman and Jordanian Minister of Agriculture Khaled Huneifat.
- Memorandum of Understanding between Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on Education Sector. The MoU was signed by Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar and Jordanian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Azmi Mahafzah.
- Memorandum of Understanding between Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Places of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on Cooperation on Religious Sector and Waqf. The MoU was signed by Minister Nasaruddin Umar and Jordanian Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Places Mohammad Khalaileh.
The signing of the MoUs was an important step in enhancement of Indonesia-Jordan strategic partnership and was part of the effort to strengthen both countries’ active roles in promoting peace, stability, and progress in the region and beyond. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RIF/MMB)
