President Prabowo Subianto warmly welcomed King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan at the Halim Perdanakusuma Airforce Base, Jakarta, Friday (11/14). The King is slated to have a two-day state visit to Indonesia that is expected to strengthen Indonesia-Jordans strategic partnership in various fields.

With warm gesture, President Prabowo shook the Kings hand and offered a warm embrace as His Majesty descended the aircraft stairs. The interaction reflected the longstanding relationship between the two leaders, established well before this meeting.

Both leaders then walked side by side past the guard of honor, signifying that the relations between Indonesia and Jordan are more than bilateral relations between states but a personal relationship between close friends.

The close friendship between both leaders was also evident during President Prabowos state visit to Amman, Jordan last April. In that visit, King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein welcomed and received President Prabowo not only as a head of state but also as  a close ally. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RAS/MMB)
