President Prabowo to Visit Middle Eastern Countries

President Prabowo Subianto departed for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday (04/09) to start state visits to five Middle Eastern countries, such as the UAE, Türkiye, Egypt, Qatar, and Jordan.

The presidential aircraft departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta for Abu Dhabi at 01.05 a.m. Western Indonesian Time. In Abu Dhabi, President Prabowo is scheduled to have a bilateral meeting with UAE President, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

“Firstly, I will visit Abu Dhabi, the UAE, to meet UAE President, His Highness Mohammed bin Zayed, to have a consultation and discuss the recent world geopolitics and geoeconomics,” said the President.

From Abu Dhabi, the President is slated to make a return visit to President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. In addition, President Prabowo is also scheduled to attend the Antalya Diplomacy Forum as a speaker during the leader’s talk session.

“In Antalya, I will have a consultation with President Erdoğan about some issues including geopolitics and geoeconomics, industrial and trade cooperation, also education and culture. We have a strong and comprehensive relationship with Türkiye,” added the President.

With limited delegates, the President will continue his trip to Kairo to have a consultation with Egyptian President, Abdul Fattah El-Sisi. Afterwards, President Prabowo is scheduled to visit Doha, Qatar to meet the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani.

“I will depart for Doha, Qatar to have a state visit and to settle some agreements between Qatar and Indonesia, also to sign some strategic agreements and consensuses between the two countries,” he said.

President Prabowo is planned to conclude the series of visits by visiting Jordan. “From Qatar, I will depart for Jordan for a state visit and again, to have a consultation with King Abdullah II,” he stated.

Also joining the President for the state visits are Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

Meanwhile, sending off the President for Abu Dhabi were Vice President Gibran Rakabuming, Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces General Agus Subiyanto, and Chief of the National Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.  (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RD/MMB)
