President Prabowo Subianto praised PT Kereta Api Indonesia’s strategic steps in revitalizing railway stations.

According to the President, the revitalization is a strategic move to preserve historical heritage while strengthening Indonesia’s transformation into a beautiful and sustainable country.

“We are changing the image of Indonesia. Indonesia must be sustainable, must be beautiful, must be green. There must be no litter scattered around. There must be no abandoned buildings. There must be no rust everywhere. We must change, and we can change it,” said the President at the inauguration of the revitalization of Semarang Tawang Station in Semarang city, Central Java province, on Thursday (07/30).

“We create an Indonesia that is brilliant, beautiful, attractive, and comfortable. The hospitality of our nation must be supported by the beauty of our natural environment,” he added.

The President also stressed that the railway sector will become one of the main pillars of national transportation and tourism development in the future. In line with the energy transition agenda, the Government will continue to encourage the use of electricity-based transportation, including the development of national railway infrastructure.

“Railways are an important part of tourism, transportation, and the future. We want everything to be based on electricity. We will build green energy and renewable energy. Not only railways, but in the future almost all of our vehicles will be electric. Our trucks, buses, cars, and motorcycles,” he said.

Closing his remarks, President Prabowo called on all parties to have a big vision in building Indonesia. He expressed optimism that the development of the national railway network, including the Trans-Sumatra Railway and Trans-Kalimantan Railway, will further strengthen connectivity while becoming a symbol of national progress.

“Indonesia is a big country. Indonesia is a strong country. Indonesia is a prosperous country. We prove that Indonesia faces the future with optimism, with joy, with spirit, without forgetting history. History is important for us, for our character, and for our future,” he said. (BPMI) (EST/LW)
