President Prabowo Subianto Wednesday (12/31) spent New Year’s Eve in a simple and solemn prayer with disaster-affected residents at a shelter in South Tapanuli regency.

The President offered earnest prayers, expressing hope for their recovery and a better future.

Instead of a festive celebration, the New Year’s Eve served as a moment of reflection and togetherness, as the President joined hundreds of displaced residents, spoke with several families, and reaffirmed the presence of the state among the people.

On that occasion, the President also invited the residents to join him in prayer for the best possible outcomes.

“We are indeed facing hardship, disasters, and challenges, but we must remain spirited, accept these trials with sincerity, and continue to stay strong and resilient,” he said.

The Head of State then extended New Year’s greetings to the residents and offered prayers to the Almighty God for the nation’s blessings

For the record, the joint prayer held on New Year’s Eve served as a symbol of solidarity and mutual cooperation.

Despite the limited resources following the disaster, the presence of the President brought a sense of calm and confidence that the Government remains steadfast in supporting the people, not only in physical recovery, but also in strengthening inner resilience and the spirit of togetherness as the nation moves into 2026.
