The Government held Eid Festival at Monas, Saturday (03/28).

President Prabowo gave instructions to hold the Eid Festival 1447 H at Monas (National Monument) area, Jakarta, on Saturday afternoon and evening (03/28).

In his written statement, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya explained that the event was part of the Government’s commitment to hold more inclusive Eid festivities.

“The public’s enthusiasm for the Palace’s open-house Eid event last week was enormous. Therefore, Mr. President had the initiative to share Eid festivity with the public in a warm and intimate atmosphere,” added the Cabinet Secretary.

The Eid festival hosted various activities for the public, ranging from people’s bazaar to public entertainment. The free event distributed 100,000 shopping vouchers worth Rp500,000 each and 300,000 portions of free meals provided by about 800 micro, small, and medium (MSM) entrepreneurs and sidewalk vendors.

In addition, the people’s bazaar engaged many traders from various shopping centers, such as Tanah Abang and Senen, contributing a boost to people’s economy. To make the event more joyful, the event organizers prepared many door prizes for visitors, including 1,000 bicycles and 100 electric bicycles.

The festival also brought a sense of togetherness through various children’s games and popular entertainment activities featuring Indonesian musicians such as Wali and Bagindas music groups. The event, which took place at the Monas intersection from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm local time, served as a platform for togetherness for all levels of society.

Through this event, the Government aimed to emphasize that the Eid al-Fitr celebrations could serve not only as an annual tradition but also as a momentum to strengthen people’s togetherness, bring happiness, and strengthen the relationship between the Government and the people.

“This year’s Eid is not only about tradition, but also about bringing happiness and togetherness for all,” the Cabinet Secretary concluded. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RD/TM)
