Global Investors Commend President Prabowo Subianto for Emphasis on Legal Certainty and Good Governance

President Prabowo received commendation from executives of leading global investment firms for his emphasis on legal certainty, good governance, and the strengthening of the national economic system during a meeting held at Washington, D.C., Friday (02/20).

Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Danantara (Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency) Pandu Sjahrir stated that the investors’ appreciation stems from the President’s leadership in creating space for strategic dialogue.

“Yes, there is strong interest from these investors to invest and collaborate in Indonesia, as well as in other markets abroad,” said Pandu.

Pandu further noted that these investors particularly value the President’s commitment to strengthening the legal system and ensuring legal certainty as the main foundation of long-term investment.

“Phrases such as confidence-building were mentioned during the meeting, reflecting their strong appreciation for the President’s emphasis on reinforcing the legal framework and legal certainty,” stated Pandu.

“They really appreciate the initiative of President Prabowo to form Danantara, as it can be their potential partner in the future,” added Pandu.

According to Pandu, President Prabowo Subianto’s direct presence and active involvement in receiving these global CEOs sends a strong signal that Indonesia is serious about building strategic partnerships. Some investors are even considering opening representative offices in Indonesia as a form of long-term commitment.

“Because for them, having ‘boots on the ground’ is very important, and they greatly appreciate that President Prabowo Subianto was able to receive all of them,” said Pandu.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Anindya Bakrie stated President Prabowo Subianto’s emphasis on corporate governance and legal certainty is a key message for  strengthening global business confidence.

“What we observed during the meeting is, first, that Danantara was highly appreciated as a trading partner by the executives. Second, President Prabowo Subianto’s emphasis on corporate governance and legal certainty was strongly highlighted and well received by them,” said Anindya.

Anindya added that the Danantara’s approach in implementing derisking and crowd-in strategies is in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to build a sustainable, collective (gotong royong) national economy.

The meeting also underscored President Prabowo Subianto’s active role in driving Indonesia’s economic diplomacy and further solidified Indonesia’s position as a stable, trusted, and open strategic partner for global investment. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (TCUD/EP)
