Gov’t Distributes Food Packages in Medan on Eid Eve

On the sidelines of President Prabowo Subianto’s working visit to North Sumatra, the Government distributed staple food packages to local residents during the eve of Eid al-Fitr, demonstrating the Government’s commitment to ensuring people’s needs continue to be met, especially during the Eid al‑Fitr celebration.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya who accompanied President Prabowo during the visit stated that the President is slated to spend the Eid’s eve in South Tapanuli and perform Eid al-Fitr prayer in Aceh Tamiang regency, Aceh province, which was one of the worst-hit areas of flood disaster four months ago and inspected the reconstruction of the area.

“We will check on the development. Minister of Home Affairs and Minister of Public Works have also arrived in the location. Tomorrow, they will report to the President who will directly inspect the situation on the ground in Aceh,” He added.

The President, he added, will also distribute similar food packages in Aceh province, reflecting the President’s affection to the people, particularly during Eid.

In the meantime, Governor of North Sumatra province Bobby Nasution said that approximately 2,000-5,000 food packages were distributed to people living in Medan and its neighboring areas.

One of the recipients, Tommy Wisnu Wardana, said that he truly appreciated the Government’s attention to the people. He also expressed his best wishes for President Prabowo’s future leadership and for the country.
