President Prabowo Subianto has announced the Government’s decision to increase judges’ salary up to 280 percent, during the 2025 Inauguration of the Judges of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia at the Supreme Court Office in Jakarta on Thursday (6/12).

“I, Prabowo Subianto, the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia, hereby announce the increase of judges’ salary to ensure their welfare. The increase varies according to grades, with the highest increase reaching 280 percent,” the President said.

The highest salary increase, according to the President, is given to the lowest grade. However, the Head of State assured that the increase applies to all judges.

“The highest increase is for the lowest grade. But all grades of judges’ salary rise significantly, and I will continue to monitor it,” he said.

In his remarks, President Prabowo revealed that he had received reports most judges hadn’t risen in 18 years. In addition, the Head of State also expressed concern about the welfare and facilities received by law enforcers.

“I received a report that there are judges who don’t own houses or don’t receive housing facilities. We have organized the housing, and hopefully, it will be implemented soon. We will massively build housing facility,” he remarked. (Bureau of Press, Media, and Information of the Presidential Secretariat) (TCUD/MUR)
