President Prabowo Receives Report on Housing Priority Programs

President Prabowo Subianto receives Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta on Tuesday (6/9).

President Prabowo Subianto on Tuesday (6/9) had a meeting with Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta. Joining the meeting was President Director of Standard Chartered Indonesia Rino Santodiono Donosepoetro.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, in his written statement, stated that President Prabowo received a report on the progress of several priority programs on the housing sector, which aimed at improving housing quality and expanding people’s access to decent and affordable housing.

Cabinet Secretary explained that the Minister particularly delivered a report on the progress of housing renovation program targeting the renovation of 400,000 uninhabitable houses so these houses will be decent, safe, and comfortable for people in various areas.

In addition, he mentioned that the Minister delivered a report on the subsidized flats in Meikarta, Bekasi. “The progress on the development of subsidized flats in Meikarta area, Bekasi regency, as part of the acceleration program for 3 million houses. And it began the land clearing and groundbreaking,” he added.

Moreover, Teddy explained that the Minister also reported on the plan for the housing renovation program in 2027, aimed at expanding access for people who need it most. President Prabowo has given his blessings for this plan.

On the occasion, Teddy affirmed the Government’s commitment to promoting priority programs on the housing sector, including the development of subsidized housing for low-income people, flats, and slum areas, as well as the initiative of an affordable housing financing scheme.

“These are part of the Government’s commitment to provide decent, affordable, and good quality housing for all Indonesians,” Teddy concluded.
