President Prabowo Subianto Inaugurates Suyudi Ario Seto as National Police Chief

President Prabowo Subianto Thursday (10/01) at the State Palace, Jakarta, inaugurated Police Commissioner General Suyudi Ario Seto as Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri) and Police Commissioner General Wahyu Hadiningrat as Deputy Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Wakapolri).

The inauguration was conducted under Presidential Decrees Number 96/POLRI of 2026 and 97/POLRI of 2026 on the Dismissal and Appointment of Chief of the Indonesian National Police and Deputy Chief of the Indonesian National Police.

Both decrees were enacted in Jakarta on October 1, 2026.

The inauguration included the recitation of the oath of office, led by the President. Conducted with solemnity, the ceremony underscored the newly appointed officials’ commitment to carrying out their duties responsibly and with integrity.

“That I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will carry out all laws and regulations in the utmost just manner. That in performing my duties, I will uphold the highest standards of official ethics with full responsibility. I will uphold Tribrata to the best of my ability,” stated the President as he dictated the oath of office to the appointed officials.

Suyudi Ario Seto was born in Jakarta on July 14, 1973 and graduated from the Police Academy in 1994. Prior to his inauguration as Chief of the Indonesian National Police, he had served as Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) starting August 25, 2025.

Meanwhile, Wahyu Hadiningrat was born in Bandung on June 4, 1970 and graduated from the Police Academy in 1992. Before his appointment, he served as Principal Assistant to the National Police Chief for General Planning and Budgeting (Astamarena Kapolri).

On the occasion, Suyudi was promoted one rank to Police General. He will immediately assume his duties as Chief of the Indonesian National Police, succeeding Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

The inauguration was followed by the signing of the official minutes and concluded with President Prabowo Subianto, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming, and the invited guests extending their congratulations to the newly-inaugurated officials.

Also attending the inauguration were heads of state institutions, as well as a number of ministers and deputy ministers of the Red and White Cabinet. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (YA/MEP)
