President Prabowo Arrives in Brazil for 2025 BRICS Summit

President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Brazil to attend the 2025 BRICS Summit.
The Garuda Indonesia-1 aircraft carrying President Prabowo landed at Galeão Air Base, Rio de Janeiro, on Saturday (07/05) at around 06.30 a.m. local time.
Upon arrival, President Prabowo was welcomed with a military honor ceremony. As he walked along the red carpet after stepping off the aircraft stairs, the honor guard gave a salute and sounded the trumpets.
At the end of the red carpet, President Prabowo was greeted by high-ranking Brazilian officials, namely the Secretary for Trade Promotion, Science, Technology, Innovation and Culture of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Laudemar Gonçalves de Aguiar Neto, and Commander of the Galeão Airforce Base Colonel Marcell Barros de Paula. Meanwhile, the Indonesian representatives were also present to welcome the President, including the Indonesian Ambassador to Brazil Edi Yusup and the Defense Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Brazil Colonel Rizal Ashwam.
After the welcoming procession, President Prabowo rode the official vehicle and continued his journey to the hotel where he was staying during his agenda in Rio de Janeiro. President Prabowo’s participation in the 2025 BRICS Summit was Indonesia’s first attendance since joining the forum at the beginning of 2025.
